What is stop motion?
Stop motion is an animation captured one frame at a time to make it appear that the objects in the film are moving on their own.
In this class, we will explore a variety of techniques for creating stop-motion films: including Legos, clay, paper cutouts, objects, and much more. Through storyboarding, we will bring our ideas to life.
We will also learn how to use a smartphone, tablet, or computer to capture the movement of our characters frame by frame and edit the footage using software such as iMovie or Stop Motion.
By the end of this class, you will have gained a deeper understanding of the art and science of animation and developed the confidence to take on more ambitious animation projects in the future.
All classes are full-year classes. Students enrolled in a Fall Semester class will automatically enroll for the Spring Semester in December to ensure their place in the class. Pricing is per semester.
