In this course, students will gain knowledge and confidence in the three core areas of science: Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Students will discover how these disciplines are interrelated and applicable to other sciences such as Biochemistry, Anatomy, Meteorology, Psychology, Engineering, Aviation, and Linguistics.
Instruction will incorporate notetaking skills, vocabulary development, scientific measurement (standard and metric), mathematical computation and formulas, critical interpretation of data, the Scientific Method, and logical reasoning/questioning. Content is geared toward all levels of high-school learners, with optional challenges and opportunities for extended learning.
Students will learn via class lectures, discussions, videos, readings, meaningful homework, weekly quizzes, fun in-class activities, and guest speakers. To maximize learning, concepts will be reinforced with spiral review throughout the year. This challenging, but enjoyable, class will pay off with lifelong learning skills!
