In this two-morning-a-week Kindergarten program, we have fun learning and exploring through many play-based, hands-on activities to foster creativity and learn basic skills and concepts. Lessons will explore Science, Art, Music, Math, PE, Literature, Journal Writing, and Handwriting practice. Storytime and Circle time are a part of every class. Discovery Time (free play) is also every day to allow students to interact cooperatively with their peers and develop social skills. Lessons on kindness, being helpful, and other positive character-building traits are also regularly incorporated into the class. This is a beautiful time of academic and social growth. I love supporting students and watching them learn, grow, and express themselves through fun and creative processes!
Students will need these books:
1. Handwriting Patch (available at handwritingpatch.com or Amazon)
2. Journal (Half the page blank for a drawing and the bottom with lines): I recommend My First Draw & Write Journal from Lakeshore ($4.49 in the store on Douglas Blvd.)
This class is a structured Kindergarten class where we work in stations most days. Here are some questions to ask to see if your child is ready:
Can my child listen and follow instructions independently?
Is my child kind and respectful to others?
Can my child work in small and large groups?
Does my child have an attention span that can finish age-appropriate projects?
All classes are full-year classes. Students enrolled in a Fall Semester class will automatically enroll for the Spring Semester in December to ensure their place in the class. Pricing is per semester.
