Being an adult is difficult. On a good day. Learning the ‘big’ life lessons from multiple mistakes can be distressing, at best. Doesn’t the saying go, “if only I knew then what I know now . . . .” Well, that’s exactly what this class is all about!
We can watch YouTube videos all day, scour through reddit and Instructables and wikiHow, wearing out our eyes reading about how something could be done. You know what’s better than that? Actually learning the skill by doing.
Throughout the year, we’ll be learning skills such as:
- basic car maintenance
- budgeting (which includes balancing a checkbook, credit and debt, buying a car/home, renting)
- basic cooking skills and how to meal plan
- home maintenance and repair
- emotional regulation and relationship skills
Come join me as we learn what it really means to be an adult, and help students get prepped for the real world!
Required Materials:
- Notebook dedicated for this class
- Pen or pencil for taking notes
All classes are full-year classes. Students enrolled in a Fall Semester class will automatically enroll for the Spring Semester in December to ensure their place in the class. Pricing is per semester.
